Typical uses
- Production fillet and lap welds on carbon steel plate
- Joints with imperfect fit-up that still need 70 ksi weld metal
- General fabrication where speed matters but low hydrogen is not required
How it runs
- Higher deposition rate than a plain rutile rod at the same amperage
- Shallow to medium penetration with a soft, stable arc
- Smooth, flat bead with a fine ripple and clean toes
- Self-releasing slag over most of the bead length
Storage and handling
Dry storage is sufficient; no oven cycle is specified, though damp rods will still run poorly and cause surface porosity.
