No accounts
GaugePass has no sign-up, no login, and no user database. You can read every reference page, run the daily question round, work the flashcard deck and use the gauge trainer without identifying yourself in any way.
What is stored in your browser
A small amount of state is kept in this browser's local storage and session storage so the site behaves sensibly between visits. It never leaves your device except where noted under Payments:
- How many gauge-trainer rounds you have completed today, so the free allowance works
- Whether you have dismissed the upgrade banner this session
- Whether you have confirmed you saved your access code
- If you have bought Premium, the anonymous purchase identifier described below
Clearing your browser data clears all of it.
Analytics
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and aggregate. It records page views and general performance data — it does not set a tracking cookie, does not fingerprint you, and does not build a profile that follows you between sites.
Payments
Premium is sold through RevenueCat Web Billing, which uses Stripe to process payments. When you buy:
- Your email address and payment details are collected and held by RevenueCat and Stripe, not by this site. GaugePass never sees your card number.
- An anonymous purchase identifier is generated and stored in this browser. That identifier is what proves you have Premium, which is why the site pushes you to save it — it is also your access code for restoring on another device.
- The identifier is not linked to your name, and this site holds no record connecting it to you beyond what your own browser stores.
If billing is not yet enabled on this deployment, none of the above applies and no payment code runs at all.
